How difficult must it be to upgrade Mac OS X to touch support – and build a touch screen into existing Mac OS X hardware ? OK, I should’ve known better: Apple made me wait for the iPad for roughly 10 years after the initial Newton experience…… to have fallen for the „everything’s much faster today“ propaganda makes we feel like an unexperienced groupy in the aftermath. Quite some news if it’s from the gaming industry and makes it into The Economist ( http://www.economist.com/blogs/schumpeter/2013/06/zyngas-woes ) or FAZ (http://www.faz.net/aktuell/wirtschaft/netzwirtschaft/zynga-baut-ab-farmville-macher-streicht-jede-fuenfte-stelle-12208063.html ). Not that I would ever have been a fan of their BidonVille-games. But it’s a reminder of a simple fact that is too often forgotten during hype cycles. Namely that promises are good…. but delivery is better. And delivery means delivery on customer expectations first and foremost. Those who bought the shares should perhaps have played the games first….
Could somebody please explain to me how hardware product managers are rewarded / incentified in all the major notebook producing companies (HP, Lenovo, Asus, Acer etc etc.) ? I am really interested to try out Windows 8 on a touch device (yes, ME, the Apple fanboy of old days !). OK, Windows 8 RT is an insult to common sense. So only „real“ Windows 8 will do. Hier entsteht meine „Web ID“ – eine Art Selbstdarstellung im und für das Internet. Den Blog habe ich aufgesetzt, um nicht immer auf die üblichen kommerziellen Websites & Services angewiesen zu sein. Und weil mich die Möglichkeiten des Internets nach wie vor faszinieren und ich mich gerne auf dem Stand der Technik halte, um ein Gefühl dafür zu bewahren, was machbar ist, kann die Auseinandersetzung mit Dingen wie WordPress ja nicht ganz falsch sein kann. Und mit Hilfe der Blog-Einträge hoffe ich auf belebendes Element neben der doch eher statischen, recht CV-lastigen „Standard-Darstellung“. Also: einfach gelegentlich mal vorbeischauen – vielleicht bleibe ich ja am Ball :-I
